Denman Prospect is one of the newest suburbs in Canberra, named after Lady Denman.

Denman Prospect is named after Gertrude Mary Denman, Lady Denman. She was active in women’s rights issues including the promotion of Women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. The suburb is named after Gertrude Mary Denman. One of her remembered activities is announcing the name of the capital, Canberra. Aside from the suburb, the lakeside Lady Denman Drive also takes her name, as does the band Lady Denman. Denman Prospect is developed by the Canberra Airport Group. The naming of the suburb brought up this thread on Reddit. Denman is also a sponsor of the Canberra Raiders.

It is part of the Molonglo area, with places such as Wright and Coombs already in place, with some more development to come in future years. The area runs down to the river, including the Butters Bridge. This large pedestrian bridge seems excessive at the moment, but houses will come in closer and closer to this area. The Ridgeline Park is a huge feature of the suburb and can be seen from some distance away.
