A2ZACT With Brent Ford – Denman Prospect
Denman Prospect is one of the newest suburbs in Canberra, named after Lady Denman.
Denman Prospect is named after Gertrude Mary Denman, Lady Denman. She was active in women’s rights issues including the promotion of Women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. She was also the wife of Lord Denman, the 3rd Baron Denman, fifth Governor-General of Australia. #A2ZACT pic.twitter.com/nEt05oei6b

The suburb is named after Gertrude Mary Denman. One of her remembered activities is announcing the name of the capital, Canberra. Aside from the suburb, the lakeside Lady Denman Drive also takes her name, as does the band Lady Denman. Denman Prospect is developed by the Canberra Airport Group. The naming of the suburb brought up this thread on Reddit. Denman is also a sponsor of the Canberra Raiders.
Here we have Canberra BMX rider Caroline Buchanan taking a spin around the suburb. It is part of the Molonglo area, with places such as Wright and Coombs already in place, with some more development to come in future years. The area runs down to the river, including the Butters Bridge. This large pedestrian bridge seems excessive at the moment, but houses will come in closer and closer to this area. You can also see some different rides beginning from the suburb.
The Ridgeline Park is a huge feature of the suburb and can be seen from some distance away.
This video of the building of Evelyn Scott school shows a little of the development of the suburb in recent years.
