0Cochabamba Hosts South American Games
The 11th version of the South American Games are underway in Cochabamba, Bolivia, bringing together athletes from 14 countries.
The Cochabamba event follows on from Chile hosting the Games in 2014. It is the second time that Bolivia has played host, having been the centre of action for the debut Games in 1978. At that time Cochabamba hosted some events, with La Paz the main host.

Chile sits in fifth place on the medal tally. Kristel Köbrich has kicked her pool campaign off with two gold medals, while the Chilean rowing squad has put in a strong performance.

Colombia top the medal count with Brazil close behind, while Argentina, Venezuela and Chile have all taken 9 gold medals so far. The games will continue until June 8. The Games will serve as strong preparation for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
