1A2ZACT With Brent Ford – Bonython
Bonython is part of the Tuggeranong area and could have ended up with the name Stranger.
12 seconds off a PB and the fastest 5km I’ve run so far in #A2ZACT https://t.co/W9KmsoDJFT

Looks like we have the fastest time so far along the A2ZACT journey. There were original plans to call the suburb Stranger, with that name sticking to the Stranger Pond as well as Mt Stranger. The Bicentennial National Trail. The suburb is named after John Langdon Bonython, a newspaper man from Adelaide who was part of the first parliament. You can find a bit more about the Bonython family in this Financial Review article. Bonython was one of the first places to be tested for drone deliveries, which not everyone was happy about.
You can do a walk from Pine Island and deviate into the suburb, including going up Mt Stranger before continuing further along the river. You will notice the street names are named after prominent South Australians or place names from South Australia. Of course we can’t forget a link to the Feel The Power post either.
