Chaleco Takes Title in Desafio Guaraní

Chilean motorcycle rider Francisco “Chaleco” López had an easy victory in the Desafío Guaraní, winning the race after the last stage was cancelled.

The race, part of the “Dakar Series” of events throughout South America, had the final stage cancelled after competitors agreed that conditions were unsafe to continue.

“Chaleco”, riding a KTM 450 Rally Replica, had advanced to the front of the pack after winning the first two stages, but would have preferred to continue racing in order to get used to the new bike.

The Chilean rider will be hoping for a strong performance in the Dakar Rally, which will once again return to Chile in January 2015.
