Boise Hosts Successful US Open Footbag Contest

The US Open for Freestyle Footbag was held over the past weekend, with a great turnout and excellent results.

The US Open for freestyle footbag was held in Boise, Idaho at JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place). Players came from far and wide, including Christopher Schillem (Germany), who is travelling across North America before the World Footbag Championships in Montreal.

With players like Jim Penske and Lon Smith throwing down big combinations on a daily basis, Boise proved an idea choice for this year’s tournament. People like Bob Green were also influential in the organisation of the tournament.

Penske, recently inducted into the Footbag Hall of Fame, was in his element in the Request Contest, taking the title in Round 12 and continuing on for some extra combos.

Thanks to some generous donations, there was a serious prize pool up for grabs with footbags, shoes and cash among the prizes..
