0Arafura Games to Return in 2019
The Arafura Games will return to Darwin in 2019. Sepak Takraw will be back in action as a demonstration sport.
The Arafura Games are back on the agenda, having been postponed indefinitely since 2012. They will run from April 27 until May 4, with the Games happening every second year.
15 sports are included on the schedule for the revamped event, with Dragon Boating and Sepak Takraw as demonstration sport. Sepak Takraw has long been a highlight for the Darwin crowds, with the opportunity for the neighbouring Asian countries to show off their skills in the traditional game. The local Australian players will also be looking to make their mark on the tournament.
