Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal to Face Off in Champions League

Chilean teammates Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal will face off in the important Champions League clash between Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

While Tocopilla product Sánchez has led Arsenal from the front foot in the English Premier League, Arsenal have failed to have the same impact on the European front. Their opening two matches have both been losses, falling to Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb. It was a horrendous start to their 18th consecutive turn in the Champions League.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola believes the Arsenal being on the ropes will have them coming out fighting, however the opening two losses have made things hard for the London club. While Sánchez  has been a leading light at Arsenal, scoring six goals to start the season, Vidal has made less of an impact since his move from Juventus.

Both players went into Chile’s recent World Cup qualifiers with injury concerns, but each played important roles in getting Chile off to a perfect start with wins against Brazil and Peru. Each of the Chilean stars converted from the penalty spot in Chile’s historic Copa America victory.
