0Top gun Sánchez puts one over Pellegrini
Alexis Sánchez won the battle of the Chileans as his Arsenal side pulled off a stunning 2-0 victory at Manuel Pellegrini´s Manchester City.
Earlier in the season, Sánchez scored a stunner in a 2-2 draw between the sides at the Emirates to ensure it was honours even.
However, this time around there were no questions that former Barcelona striker came out on top against Pellegrini.
In truth, Sánchez didn´t display the sparking form he´s shown in the Premier League this season, but he turned in a typically all-action display as the visitors produced a highly disciplined away performance.
Instead, it was midfielder Santi Cazorla who took the majority of the plaudits with an oustanding show that combined skill and graft.
In addition, the Spaniard netted the first from the penalty spot and delivered the free-kick that gave striker Olivier Giroud the chance to head the second.
The victory leaves Arsenal in fifth place in the Premier League and fighting for the Champions League spots.
The unexpected home reverse was a major setback for City boss Pellegrini, who will no doubt come under fire. His team still lie second in the table, but they are now five points adrift of Chelsea, who stormed to a 5-0 victory at Swansea yesterday.
