Raiders hang on for victory

The Raiders started their first home game of the 2010 NRL season with a victory. Despite numerous errors from both teams, the Raiders muscled up in defence and made the most of opportunities in attack to be up 18-0 at half time.

The tides turned in the second half, with Brisbane scoring almost all the points and having over 70% of possesion. Missed conversions from Corey Parker and Corey Norman cost them dearly, they could have levelled the scores with these kicks.

The Raiders were strong in their desperate goalline defence, all of the forwards put in strong performances in attack and defence. In attack, each run was regularly bring easy momentum with 10m or more per hit up.

A couple of blunders under the high ball from young guns Josh Dugan and Daniel Vidot could have been costly, but the defence held on. Josh McCrone sealed the win in the dying stages with his second try.
