Golfer Niemann finishes third in World Cup

Chile´s Joaquín Niemann earned a superb third place in the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan.
Niemann produced rounds of 65, 69, 71 and 68 to finish on -11. He was only beaten by Venezuela´s Jorge Garcia, who triumphed with a stunning -21, and Australia´s Brett Coletta (-13).
Niemann´s efforts played a big role as Chile came sixth in the team competition with -11. La Roja finished with a flourish by scoring the joint lowest round of the final day along with Norway, who won the team competition. Both teams hit 206 shots in the last round.
Norway won the competition with -21, while the United States and Venezuela finished tied in second with -17.
Lucas Rosso (tied 23rd), Rodrigo Rivas (tied 33rd) and Diego Salinas (55th) also played for Chile.
The World Cup featured the best young players from 15 countries, who won through regional qualifying competitions in six continents. More than 60 countries started out on the road to Japan.
