Alexis hits the jackpot for Arsenal

Alexis Sánchez netted his first goal for Arsenal – and paid off the vast part of his £35million transfer fee in the process.
The Chilean’s cool, angled finish from inside the box on the stroke of half-time against Turkey’s Besiktas sent the Gunners through to the group stages of the Champions League – and that’s worth a reported £30million.
It was perfect timing for the former Barcelona striker who had failed to score in his opening four matches for the north London club and had been hauled off at half-time in the 2-2 draw against Everton at the weekend.
It also got him back in manager Arsene Wenger’s good books.
The Arsenal boss said: “Alexis had a good game not only technically, but also in the way he fought.
“He has a combative spirit that will be very important in the Premier League.”
Arsenal drew 0-0 against Besiktas in Turkey last week and Sánchez´s strike in the return proved the only goal of the two-leg tie.
