0Everton put their faith in Marcoleta
Everton have given the experienced Luis Marcoleta the opportunity to lead them back to Chile´s top flight.
The Viña del Mar outfit suffered a nightmare year in the Primera Division and were relegated on the last day of the season.
Ex-Colo Colo manager Omar Labruna was sacked early on in the Clausura and even the best efforts of former Chilean national team boss Nelson Acosta couldn´t keep them up.
Now the Ruleteros have decided that promotion specialist Marcoleta is the man they need to help them earn their place back among the elite.
The 55-year-old has definitely got the track record for it and joins the club having just guided San Marcos de Arica back into the top division.
Marcoleta said: “It´s an important and difficult challenge, but the club have confidence in me and I hope to be able to repay that confidence.
“I will do the best I can to return the club to the division it deserves as soon as possible. I´m a trainer and I go where I like the project. If the challenge hadn´t been difficult, I wouldn´t have come.”
Meanwhile, Antonio Bloise has returned to the post of president after a year´s absence as Everton look to rebuild.
