0English Football Tourists Impressed With Chilean Atmosphere
After arranging tickets through Sport/Life to the Chile vs Bolivia match, Steve Hesketh and his wife sent us an email to talk about their experience at the stadium. Both are passionate football tourists and found Chile to have the best atmosphere during their stay in South America.
The photo is from Chile’s previous match against Uruguay, with coach Jorge Sampaoli now having La Roja on a three match winning streak.
Here is what the English football tourists had to say about their experience at Estadio Nacional.
The match was brilliant and I was really impressed with the administration of getting everybody into the stadium (I thought the E tickets would cause mass confusement). Compared to the Maracana and River Plate, the Chilean National stadium is well ahead in terms of ease of access and a friendly atmosphere.
The noise levels were really high for a national team game, much higher than in England or even Brazil (Brazil v England) and Argentina ( Argentina v Colombia).
Although I got the feeling we were the only gringos I always felt at ease. A great night out, so I must thank you enormously for all of the effort that you have out in getting these tickets.
As Chile prepares for the resumption of the football season, there will be Copa Chile, regular season and Copa Sudamericana matches to look forward to, with the South American Games approaching in early 2014.
Chile have two remaining World Cup qualifiers at home, with Venezuela in September and a final clash against Ecuador. Please get in touch if you are interested in arranging a tour.
