0Colo Colo have got six appeal
Pacesetters Colo Colo stretched their winning streak to six matches with a tougher than expected 3-2 win against Cobresal on Friday night.
Macul – More than 33,000 fans packed into the Estadio Monumental expecting to see the albos pick up another three points.
The albos achieved it without being at their best. Perhaps that wasn´t surprising given that they were missing the creative skills of the injured Emiliano Vecchio and Jaime Valdés.
Colo Colo took the lead in the ninth minute when Esteban Paredes scored after being set up by Esteban Pavez.
Any thoughts that it would be an easy night were dismissed when Cobresal drew level in the 23rd minute from the penalty spot after a Cristián Vilches handball. The Paraguayan Ever Cantero made no mistake.
Colo Colo wasted chances to regain the lead in the first half, but they didn´t have to wait long to go back in front in the second half. Youngster Juan Delgado struck in the 47th minute.
The in-form Felipe Flores scored a well-taken third goal in the 73rd minute, but Cobresal set up a nervy finale when Lino Maldonado netted in the last minute.
Héctor Tapia´s men held on to increase their lead at the top of the table to six points and they are looking increasingly likely to bag their much-coveted 30th title.
