0Canberra Walks – Gungaderra Grasslands Loop
Gungaderra Grasslands is part of the bushland behind the suburb of Crace. At the moment the grass is growing quite quickly.
I have previously written about Gungaderra Grasslands, it would have been one of the first Canberra Walks posts that I made. Things have definitely changed since this map was made, with the area of Crace listed as a “rural lease”. Looking at the pictures from the previous walk, it’s like another world. This time around in some places the grass was head high.
In the area heading towards the track that runs between Palmerston and Crace, the grass was significantly longer there – I went through quickly, hoping for no snake visitors.

You can easily access the area by a stile that will bring you in. There are not really any marked tracks, but there are some areas where vehicles have been through and left a bit of a trail. In this visit I came out to the track that runs between Crace and Palmerston to create a circuit.
