1On-song Sborowitz continues winning run in Iran
Matias Sborowitz is through to the final of the Iran Futures 7 after a hard-fought win against top seed Vadim Alekseenko.
The 20-year-old lost in the semi-finals of the Iran Futures 6 last week, but made amends this time around by beating the Ukraine’s Alekseenko (542) in three sets – 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (4).
Fourth seed Sborowitz (795) will meet the second seed, Marko Tepavac (629), of Serbia, in tomorrow afternoon’s final.
Meanwhile, Jorge Aguilar is through to the quarter-finals of the USA Futures 12 in Vero Beach, Florida. The second seed, who has slipped to 501 in the rankings, will meet unranked qualifier Tommy Paul, of the USA, this afternoon for a place in the last four.
