Podlipnik and Garín ousted by top seeds

Chilean interest in the Poznan Challenger came to a swift end as Hans Podlipnik and Christian Garín suffered first round exits.
The losses were no great surprise as the duo were up against the top two seeds in the tournament. Chilean number two Podlipnik was on the wrong end of a 6-2, 6-1 defeat against top seed Blaz Rola (82), of Slovenia.
Garín (346), meanwhile, gave a good fight against Austria´s Andreas Haider-Maurer (90), but also went down in straight sets. The 18-year-old lost 6-4, 7-6 (3) against the second seed.
It wasn´t all grim news in Poland as Garin had battled through three rounds of qualifiers to reach the main draw.
As well as the Pole Pawel Cias (889º), Garín overcame Sweden´s Lucas Leonard (794°) y Elias Ymer (281°) in straight sets.
The clay court tournament has a prize fund of 35,000 euros.
