0Nicolás Jarry Into Australian Open Main Draw
Chilean Nicolás Jarry will be in the thick of the action in the first Grand Slam of the year, with his top 100 ranking seeing him qualify directly for the Australian Open.
With a ranking of 100, Jarry will see Chile represented in the Main Singles Draw in Australia for the first time since Fernando Gonzalez in 2011. Hans Podlipnik participated in the first round Doubles in 2016. “H-Pod” and Julio Peralta have both had strong years in the Doubles, which should see them appearing on the court in Australia.

Wins in Challenger tournaments in Medellin, Quito and Santiago have seen Jarry boost up his ranking and an appearance in the Grand Slam will have the possibility of an increased ranking as well as the prize money that comes with it.
In the women’s side, Daniela Seguel will try and come through the qualifiers for a place on Melbourne Park.
