Garín bows out of Segovia Challenger

Christian Garín was unable to upset the form book when he took on Russia´s Alexander Kudryavtsev in the Segovia Challenger.
Wild card Garín (327) had pulled off an excellent 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory against France´s Martin Vaisse (239) in the first round of the Spanish competition.
But the 18-year-old’s hopes of causing another shock against the second-seeded Russian quickly faded.
Kudryavtsev (149) eased to a 6-1, 6-3 success in 51 minutes in the hard court tournament which has a prize fund of 42,500 euros.
On the women´s front, Andrea Koch (354) had better luck in the ITF Santa Cruz tournament in Bolivia. The 29-year-old used all her experience to see of 17-year-old Mafalda Fernandes, of Portugal, 6-2, 6-2.
Second seed Koch takes on another teenager, 16-year-old Madison Bourguignon, of the United States, in the second round this evening. The clay court tournament has a prize fund of US $10,000.
