Hadwin simply had to win the Chile Classic

Canadian Adam Hadwin leaves Chile with fond memories – and a prize of US $117,000 – after winning the Chile Classic.

Santiago – In a tight finish, Hadwin kept his nerve to make birdies on the last two holes and clinch his first PGA Web.com Tour title.

Australian Alistair Presnell looked as though he would ruin Hadwin’s party when he hit his third eagle of the day on the 18th hole to finish on -15.

However, Hadwin displayed remarkable poise to post birdies on 17 and 18, the latter from five feet, for a round of 69 (-3) and a total of 272 (-16).

The delighted 26-year-old said: “This is a reward for all the sacrifice and time I’ve invested in my game in recent years.

“It’s my third year playing here in Chile and now I’ll take home the best memory. It’s been an amazing week for me.”

US-based Martin Ureta was the top Chilean – he finished in 12th place at the Prince of Wales Country Club. Christian Espinoza came 52nd, Nicolas Geyger 57th and Hugo Leon 62nd.
