Carvallo shows her strength again

Chile´s Valentina Carvallo turned in an excellent performance to earn fourth place in the Ironman of Brasilia.

Brazil – The Club Deportivo Universidad Católica triathlete clocked times of 28mins 7secs for the 1,900 metres of swimming, 2hours 22mins 15secs for the 90km of cycling and 1hr 31mins 34secs for the half-marathon.

The reigning Ironman 70.3 of Pucón champion finished with an overall time of 4hours 25mins 8secs. It meant she finished ten minutes behind winner Mirinda Carfae.

Carol de Lima Furriela and Amanda Stevens took second and third respectively, while Carvallo was just two minutes off the podium places.
