Top 10 YouTube Videos of 2025
Today I will take a look back at the best performing videos on my personal YouTube account. These are mainly vlogs and a couple of footbag videos.
I’ve already looked at the best performed posts on the site for the past year. Both are a bit of an interesting look at something I haven’t been actively pushing in recent times. The top one was also a surprise to me.
- Capital Eyes – Vlog 55 – Thomas and Friends in Thirlmere
This one was definitely a surprise to me. We’ve got a little kindergartener who is now preparing for high school. This was quite a fun event, we also went down to Wollongong the following day. The kids have probably grown out of this, but I wouldn’t mind taking them to the regular museum at some point.
2. Capital Eyes – Vlog 126 – Knotfest and Hatebreed Sideshow
The Hatebreed sideshow was probably my favourite show of the year, despite the fact they didn’t play Perseverance in full as I was expecting. You can see my thoughts on Knotfest and the Hatebreed sideshow. I probably didn’t get to do so many reviews this year, but got to the major festivals. Looking back on this video, it was a pretty awesome weekend.
3. Footbag Session in Sydney
This one is just a cut up of raw clips from a kick with Marc Strauss, a footbag player from the USA who was in Sydney for a little while. He liked his visit to Australia so much he’s moved here, so hopefully I will meet for a kick with him sometime this year. This was when I had a cast on after fracturing my wrist in a bike crash.
4. Footbag Joulukalenteri 2025 – Day 2 – Daniel Boyle – Canberra, Australia.
This is my submission to the annual Footbag Joulukalenteri. I have run this a couple of times but was certainly not up to it this year with a lot on the plate. There was not really any particular theme to this one, just a collection of bits and pieces picked up. I’m not too happy with some of the ducking tricks in this one. I used Hells Bells from AC/DC and included a little live clip from when we went to see them.
4. Capital Eyes – Vlog 128 – Some Footbag Trips in Europe
We spent a month in Europe and I captured a few footbag clips along the way. There are some of the major attractions and then some of the smaller places we visited as well. Got to meet up with a couple of footbag players along the way and hope to see some more in travels this year.
5. Capital Eyes – Vlog 129 – Bands of 2025
I liked how this one turned out. A lot of musical clips I’ve just been putting up the action from the performance and that’s about it. There’s some good variety of the big and small. Being basically at the back of the stadium for AC/DC up against being basically on the stage for Dropsaw. Also a reminder of how awesome the forecourt of the Opera House is as a venue.
6. Capital Eyes – Vlog 124 – The Butterfly Effect in Dee Why and In Hearts Wake in Canberra
This was another good weekend outing. I got a great spot in Dee Why despite arriving about 5 minutes before The Butterfly Effect played. This was a good venue, I’d definitely go back there. The In Hearts Wake show was also really good. It was also the first time for me seeing Inertia. A couple of extra activities along the way here, got in the water at Dee Why and a couple of skateparks here and there. This was an up and back trip to Sydney which I probably ended up doing more of than I would have liked this year.
7. Capital Eyes – Vlog 125 – Canberra Balloon Spectacular
Each year they hold the balloon festival and this past year I got to go out a couple of times on the kayak and see the action. This particular day there were quite a few flying around so I got a fairly good view of things.
8. Footbag – Kicks at the Beach
This one was a video from 2024 when we had a visit from Tom from Chicago. I actually took the day off work to show him around Sydney and things worked out pretty well. We kicked at Maroubra and then had a bit of an explore of the city.
9. Footbag Joulukalenteri 2025- Links of The Day – Intermediate
I was fairly disappointed in myself in terms of the regular challenges but managed to get most of the intermediate challenges on both sides within one session.
10. Daniel Boyle – Footbag Joulukalenteri 2024 – Western Australia
The soundtrack for this one was from Make Them Suffer, a band I was able to see a couple of times along the year. I went over for a wedding and then spent some days further south as well.
There are the top ten YouTube videos for the year for me. None of them have amazing view counts so I won’t worry about sharing them. I put out about 10 videos, with two of them coming in the last couple of days of the year.
