0Grimalts continue to impress on world stage
Marco and Esteban Grimalt have eased through to the main draw in the latest leg of the beach volleyball World Tour.
Competing in the Grand Slam at Long Beach, California, the Chilean number ones overcame Norway´s Iver Horrem and Geir Eithun 2-0 in the second qualifying round. They took a tight first set 21-19 and the second by a more comfortable 21-15 margin.
The victory has taken them through to Pool F, where they will meet opposition from the United States, Brazil and Poland.
The cousins, ranked 27, begin with a testing match against the Brazilian sixth seeds Emanuel Rego and Pedro Solberg and then face home pairing John Hyden and Tri Bourne (11).
They finish their Pool F campaign against Poland´s Bartosz Losiak and Piotr Kantor (22) tomorrow.
The pool winners go straight through to the second round, while the teams that finish second and third qualify for the knockout first round.
