Battling Grimalts are on song in Austria

Marco and Esteban Grimalt have a great chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Klagenfurt Grand Slam after pulling off a superb opening pool victory.
In the latest leg of the beach volleyball world tour in Austria, the Grimalt cousins came up against fifth seeds Emanuel Rego and Pedro Solberg in their first Pool E match.
After losing the first set 23-21 to the Brazilians, they were up against it, but they won another nail-biter 24-22 to level the match.
The Chilean number ones, ranked 28th, proved the stronger in the last set, taking it 15-12 to triumph 2-1.
With three teams out of four qualifying for the knockout rounds, the Grimalts now have every chance of going through.
They take on the Spaniards, Pablo Herrera and Adrián Gavira, the 12th seeds, later today and then round off their Pool E campaign against Australia´s Isaac Kapa and Christopher McHugh tomorrow.
Marco and Esteban had to come through two tough qualifying matches to reach the main draw.
They beat Russia´s Nikita Liamin and Ruslan Bykanov 2-1 (15-21, 21-17, 15-10) in round one and then overcame China´s Cheng Chen and Jian Li by the same score in round two (24-22, 18-21, 15-11).
