Chilean Roller Derby to Celebrate Two Years

To mark two years of roller derby in Chile, the Metropolitan Roller Derby League will host a celebration. Within the short amount of time the sport has grown in popularity, with enthusiastic crowds attending regular bouts in Santiago and leagues appearing throughout the regions.

Of course, nothing helps a growing sport like an injection of cash from a sporting goods giant, and the $10,000 prize from Adidas was a huge publicity boost for the Metropolitan Roller Derby League.

Chilean skaters will travel to Argentina and Colombia this year to participate in international competitions. The entrance fee to the anniversary fiesta will help fund these trips. Tickets will be CLP$3.000 at the door, or $2.000 pre-sale.

More information about the event can be found on the Facebook page. The party will begin at 10 p.m. and take place at Tienda oOPS (Av Italia 1194, Providencia) on Saturday June 1.
